Photo: Framed & glazed of Robert Witthoeft, torpedo officer on the SMS Emden that was sunk by the HMS Sydney off Cocos keeling Islands. Witthoeft was wounded during the battle. The photo taken on a US ship ca 1934 shows Witthoeft in naval uniform, Iron Cross 1st Class on his breast, hat with 3rd Reich eagle with swastika. He was a German Navy Vice-Admiral in WWII. Signed "thank you" in margin.
